Communicating for Change

I am a Strategic Communications student at the University of Mary with a passion for using communication to create positive change and bring attention to important social issues. My academic journey originally began in biochemistry, but over time I realized my true passion was in writing, messaging, and connecting with people through meaningful communication. Changing my major was an important step in finding a career path that better reflects both my strengths and my values.

Through my studies, I have developed strong skills in writing, organization, critical thinking, and public communication that continue to prepare me for a future in advocacy and strategic messaging. I am especially interested in working with nonprofit organizations, political campaigns, or public relations teams where I can help communicate messages that make an impact and support causes that matter.

I take pride in being dependable, organized, and professional in everything I do. I value honesty, strong ethics, and clear communication, and I believe those qualities are essential when building trust and representing an organization well. Whether I am working independently or collaborating with others, I strive to approach every responsibility with focus, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

My goal is to build a career in strategic communications where I can combine my passion for advocacy with my communication skills to help organizations connect with the public, strengthen their message, and inspire meaningful change. I am excited to continue growing professionally and to use my skills to make a difference in the world around me.
